OJ Simpson was granted parole unanimously this afternoon by the parole board of the Lovelock Correctional Facility of Nevada. Despite his ramblings and slightly combative responses throughout the hearing, Simpson still managed to score low enough on Nevada’s parole risk assessment test.
Back in 2013, Simpson scored a 3 on the assessment at the age of 66. Any score between 0 and 5 is considered to give a grant chance of parole. Today, OJ is 70 years old and that certainly played a role in his risk to society. But what’s next?
While the board draws up their parameters of parole, OJ will still have to wait until October 1st of this year to be released on parole. Where does he head? Back to Florida? It’ll be interesting to see how he assimilates back to normal civilized living. Who is still in his corner?
Once upon a time, Simpson had his own tv show Juiced where he would prank people similar to Ashton Kutcher’s Punk’d. Will another tv show be in his future? Simpson definitely still draws media attention and should continue to do so in October when his life takes its next turn. A show following the life of OJ figures to do extremely well given all the attention he has received through the years. Is he up for it though? Wishful thinking would have him appear on KUWTK..but that will never happen.
