Details are a bit murky but Lizzie Scherer of Saving Spot rescue is accusing Lisa Vanderpump and Ken Todd of stiffing her of $32,000. That’s a lot of dough, so what went wrong?

According to Page Six, it appears there was a miscommunication between Ken Todd and Scherer as well some shady business practices on Scherer’s part. Here are the details in summary:
- Ken approached Scherer about doing a deal where they would essentially take over her facility
- Ken would pay Scherer’s rent for the next three years and offer her an employment contract as part of that deal
- Ken then didn’t pay rent and said he’d pay one month’s rent as long as Scherer signed a nondisclosure agreement and let them out of it
- A Vanderpump sources claims Lisa and Ken realized Scherer was shady and had shady practices. Ex: improperly accepting donations, not filing taxes, tax-exempt status revoked in 2015
Lisa had this to say to Page Six:
“We can’t be involved with someone who doesn’t have a charity set up properly. Everything was messy. We helped pay her rent. We were purely trying to help her because of our love of dogs, not because of our love of Lizzie. No good deed goes unpunished.”
It would seem Lisa and Ken sniffed out this bad situation and ultimately decided to part ways before reaching a contractual agreement. It sounds like Scherer ultimately counted her chickens before they hatched and before the deal was finalized, cried she had been ripped off.
